Our Story: Caring for the Heart of the Community
At Zybs, we believe technology should feel human.
Our founder, Dr. Thelma Ezeonu, spent over a decade caring for patients with high blood pressure. As a physician and a member of the community she served, she saw firsthand how hypertension affects families. From silent strokes to preventable heart disease to the daily stress of managing a chronic condition, the toll was clear.
She also saw how many of the tools available weren’t designed with real people in mind. So she asked a simple question: What if checking your blood pressure felt less like a chore and more like self-care?
That question led to Zybs Medical Device.
Dr. Thelma brought together a team of engineers, designers, and health educators to create a device that is easy to use, clinically reliable, and built for everyday life. The cuff inflates gently. The readings are clear and accurate. The design is simple and familiar, so it feels comfortable on the nightstand or in your bag.
Zybs grew out of years of real conversations with patients. It reflects what we heard in exam rooms, during hallway check-ins, and in moments of frustration with complicated equipment or confusing results. We understand how it feels to see a number that worries you or to wonder whether you’re doing enough to stay healthy. We also understand that access, time, and cost can make consistent care feel out of reach.
That’s why we focused on compassion, clarity, and practicality at every step
Zybs exists to make heart care easier and more accessible. Our work is rooted in community, built on medical experience, and powered by the belief that everyone deserves tools that support their health with dignity and care.
